Palm Tree of Life Framed Canvas Painting

For Meesha, inspiration arrives in many forms. Artistic works by Henri Rousseau, Maxfield Parish, and Salvador Dali are just a few of her favs.  As you gaze at this first-in-series painting, imagine looking out at a surreal tropical landscape while relaxing in a cozy beach cottage along the southern tip of the Florida Keys, last home of Hemingway. The humid salty air and smell of sweetly-aged pine floors and distant clove waft through the windows at your back, as you sit rocking on the porch with a nearly empty cup in your hand. You slowly rise and wander into the quaint kitchenette for another drink, and the vibrant red leaves peaking from the rare Palmana Cocofern Tree catch your eye. Slowly, you drift into the ether… where will you go?

This original acrylic on canvas is the first work Meesha produced after a nearly 30-year hiatus from her art. You can see the subtle brushstrokes and colorful elements reminiscent of her early work, Jeepers Peepers. However, this painting represents the awakening and reimagination of a hibernating tropical surrealist, and is littered with foreshadows and stories long foretold.
